Saiunkoku Monogatari Fansub Project

First, many thanks to the editors Ginny!, Hezziwig, and Ysa-chan. This project wouldn't have been possible without you! I'd like to mention that, while usually one editor acts as the primary editor for a given episode, as much as possible, all of the editors help in the final check for the episodes. This project is truly a group effort. Thank you so much for all your hard work!

This title has now been licensed by Geneon and as a result our subbing project will also be dropped. Many thanks to everyone who helped out with this project, and a special thanks to all the people who helped seed our releases! ^o^


Story 1 (eps 1-7)
Story 2 (ep 8-10)
Side Story 1 (ep 11)
Side Story 2 (eps 12 & 13)
Story 3 (eps 14-19)
Story 4 (eps 20-27)
Story 5 (eps 28-36; 29 includes the "Rose Princess" SS)
Story 6 (eps 37-39 end season 1)

Saiunkoku Monogatari is based on a series of novels by Yukino Sai, published by Kadokawa Shoten. The stories, characters, images are all © the author, manga-ka, publisher, and anime corporations respectively. As with all fansub projects, this project will end when the series is licensed here (in North America). Please support the creators and buy the DVDs once they become available in your country.

I really can't say thank you enough times for everyone's hard work and effort into making this possible for the rest of us! You guys are awesome! :)

I think Saiunkoku is such a great series and I really hope that it'll gain enough momentum to make it here in North America. :P

Sorry for asking this, but I read that the releases for Saiunkoku Monogatari started at episode 12, so release schedule would be a bit strange, and I was just wondering if all episodes (including previous ones that haven't been done yet) will be fansubbed, so that I know if I should go and try to find the missing episodes. Thanks, and keep up the good work.

*heaps extravagent praise on Shadow-the-awesome, who makes it so that we can enjoy this, too, instead of telling us how wonderful it is and doesn't it suck that we can't read/understand/speak Japanese*

I'm always pleased (and a little surprised — I thought I was the only one who took it to such extremes) when you do something as maniacally detail-oriented as I would. ^_^

Episodes 1-7 haven't been done/finished yet, so it'll be a bit longer before links will be available for them.

Thanks! ^_^ For now, I'm going to see how things go with Sendspace. It may be that I'll have to switch to a .torrent release instead though (complete with utter confusion on my part). ^^;;

Hey you guys!!! I love your subbing!!! I was wondering... if people could upload your fansub to other places? I was asking because people are asking on the aarinfantasy forum for other links because they have trouble with sendspace.

If you mean using something similar to Sendspace only without the problems they seem to be having recently, then sure, that's fine. If you mean on BT, I'd ask against that at the moment, as I'm currently trying to fight my way through it. If I crash and burn, it might be possible though. ^^;

I can't believe that the anime is being fansubbed by Shadow Dreams!!! I love your translations, I visit your site every week before I watch the raws and I love the effort! Thanks for Saiunkoku Monogatari! I was afraid that this great series was being overlooked. But since I discovered your work all the anxiety has been relieved! AWESOME work!!!
