Mrf! Let's try this again...

July 5th, 2006 (02:01 pm)

current mood: blank

Stupid browser crashed, but thankfully, this site saves drafts as they get written... :P

Just a quick note that the final translation has now gone up to the site. Apparently more of the page was lost in the spine than I'd anticipated so I ended up changing more than the original 5 pages that were expected. >_<;;

Kitty cat was really cute. ^___^

Otherwise... I might be getting The Beans and Beans Ace subscriptions...? (Along with a subscription to a Kyoto cooking magazine... that might be more for the male parental though). :P

Anyhow, I'm just a "little" past lunch break. That's okay, I finished the work on my desk. :P Which reminds me, Friday will be the start of the local 10 day "holiday". *blink* I forgot to flee town... >_<;;

Come to Toronto!

*laughs* Believe me when I say I'm sorely tempted but... right now, locals are fleeing while outsiders are coming in. >_<;; I'd completely forgotten about the timing. Going anywhere in this city, especially the downtown core / Stampede grounds, for the next 10 days will be insane. The "good"(??) thing is that there are free breakfasts everywhere for those who are so inclined. ^^;

Okay...something that has been bothering me and no matter how often I read it I never was able to understand what he meant by it was Kyou's internal thoughts at the very end of 120 as he's running away.

So...I tried to ignore it...only half understanding...

Then...those exact same lines show up in 129...as part of his explanation. No matter how much I try to understand what exactly he means by it...I can't make heads or tails of it. I'm sure you know what lines I am talking about, I know they have to do with his regret about Kyoko...but...am I missing something? I think I get somewhat the gist of what he's trying to convey...but I get real lost toward the end. ^^; (Am I even making any sense??)

Okay, I've checked my translation and summary for that line but I'm not finding it, so I'm going to need you to be more specific where in my translation you're getting confused. Either that, or could it be that you ran into that line in someone else's translation? I don't remember if anyone else translated the chapter, but it's always possible. ^_^

[If you keep repeating the same sort of thing over and over again,

No different from "not knowing," isn't it.

This line is the one that has been tripping me up, I am assuming the previous comments directly before this have to do with his comments to Kyoko after the 'red hat' incident. Kyou always closed his ears and didn't listen to what others tried to tell him...just refused to believe anything other than what he thought. So...he tells her what he thinks...both about her thinking Yuki is a good kid and that he thinks she's a traitor and runs off.

Which is exactly what he's doing here at the end of 120...refusing to listen to what Tohru is trying to tell him...and runs off. Not realizing that he may never get a chance to apologise for his actions.

I guess...I just get confused at the 'not knowing' comment...Is he trying to say that 'because he continues to do this, it's like he never actually learns his lesson' and his confession in 129 is him saying he's not going to do that again? That he's finally learned?

Or am I off?

Ah okay. Yeah, basically it's the idea that if you keep repeating the same mistakes, it's the same thing as not knowing any better. Kyo regrets what had happened between him and Kyoko and things happened that he was never able to apologise or make up with her. Then later with Tohru, he almost repeats the exact same mistake even though he supposedly knew how easy it was for accidents to happen. One can assume he's probably learned that lesson, but putting it into practical application... *shrug*

Just read the uploaded Furuba script again after reading the scans. WOW. Like, no, really, OMGSQUEEWOW. The look on both their faces in the last panel when they realize that "something obvious hasn't happened yet", actually, the whole last 3-4 pages... is just worth the 22 volumes or so it took to get here! :)

*total Cat and Riceball love!*

And, is Akito making it a habit of wearing yukata in a girl-style these days? She looks nice. :) *wonders what sort of girl's clothing Shigure got her, and wonders if it'll be worn for the final feast*

Ugh...I hate when the computer just crashes, or shuts down...especially when it seems like there is no apparent reason. I've begun writing everything in word so that I don't lose information any more. ^^; I was happy the day I lost a while post on here...and found that it was saved by the site. (Yay livejournal!)

Thanks so much for the translation. I've really enjoyed it <3 Gah...the chapter made me both extremely happy, and broke my heart. Reading Tohru's thoughts....how utterly broken she really felt without Kyou...the fact that she was actually hitting herself, and trying to train herself to smile....it was so...depressing. I was sitting at the computer, trying not to bawl my eyes out in front of Sari-chan. We've been fangirling the scans and the translation since! Again, I want to say thank you so much for all your hard work. I know that all the crazy obsessed Furuba Fans out there (that includes me.....at least...crazy obsessed KYOURU fan) are very appreciative.
