Ch 123 summary now up

March 3rd, 2006 (05:23 pm)

current mood: blank

Just a quick note that the summary for Ch 123 is now up on the site. (Or should be anyways. ^^; I'm pretty sure I ULed it. [Shadow's having a brainless day...]). Actually, very brainless day because whatever I'd been planning on writing has completely flown the coop. Anyhow, I've made some minor nuance changes in the summary as well as the odd word change.

This was very much a Yuki chapter again. Kyo seemed to have gone into a major gloom and doom despite the end of last chapter but was very effective booted out of it. Yuki's and Kyo's fight finally sees Kyo seeing the light of day and realising just what he'd been turning his back on refusing to accept. But the fight saw a *lot* of old baggage, while not necessarily specifically spoken of, dealt with.

Honda Grandpa is, as he's always been through the series, absolutely wonderful. It's a little hard to believe that he and Katsuya could have had such problems getting along earlier, but then, it's hard to imagine how he might've been before Honda Grandma passed away too. However, that he noticed Kyo missing, and that he so readily picked up on Yuki's frustration over "the idiot" is very much Grandpa. And how Yuki follows his advice! ^^;

Of the 12shi, we missed seeing Aya, Ritsu and Kureno. Poor Ritsu hasn't been seen for a very long time now. ^^; Kureno I think has other problems (like being stabbed) to deal with, and we'll see what "the King" ends up doing if he gets to show up later. (Aya scares me quite frankly). :P

Perhaps one of the best lines (other than Haru's and Gure's comments) was Yuki's "This is me, the one you wanted to be..." In Japanese, Yuki uses "ore-sama" which he hasn't used since the fireworks scene at the beach. That "oh so conceited" act was simply perfect. And how utterly he defeated Kyo. Poor kitty didn't realise until *after* getting to the hospital what time it was. I really do hope Uo-chan and Hana-chan give him a piece of their minds as well. Maybe Megumi too. :P

So many incredible shots in this chapter. The next one will be most interesting as well. 2+ weeks to wait. And no teaser on Hakusensha's site for the next chapter. >_

? It's there. Try refreshing your browser a couple of times to force it to reload from the server. Sometimes it gets a bit lazy and just pulls from cache. (Clearing your cache is also good too). :P

When I read it I knew from the way you worded it that Yuki had said Ore-sama at that moment. Kudos on making that nuance come through even on a first draft!

Oh, I've been wondering exactly what Yuki said at the beach ever since I got that volume in translation-- I wish they'd footnoted that, considering that they retained the "nee-sama" (iirc?) from Uotani's groupies.

Wow im so glad ch123 is fainally up ^_^!
The wait for ch124 is gonna seem so short compared to the wait for this chapter!
When I was reading this I couldnt help but compare one of my friends to Hatsuharu...(haha) a very random person indeed..I mean Tohru just fell off a cliff and Haru seems more concerned with Rin`s..um "chest" and nuggets lol

I found your blog through the website and wanted to say thank you for posting the summaries. Wow, what detailed summaries! Thanks so much!
It'll be a long while before this chapter makes it to the US, but through your summaries I can follow the story perfectly, and, omgoodness... I'm glad Yuki and Kyo's issues are finally reaching some sort of resolution. I have been waiting for this "conversation" (or should I say confrontation?) since vol 1-2. I hope we will see more of the Akito/Shigure/Kureno issues in next chapter. I can't wait!
Thanks again for all your work in the site, for all the content and summaries :-)

Wow. I'm so excited that this Chapter came up. I've been waiting soo long for it. I'm also happy that Kyo and Yuki kind of let out how they feel about eachother. Who knows, it may end up helping their relationship. But Where is Ayame, Kureno, Ritsu(we haven't seen him in forever), and i want to hear more about what Momiji thnks because he too, is close to Tohru. At least we don't have to wait as long for the next chapter. How many chapters are left? Well I was disappointed that Kyo didn't make it in time to see Tohru because I would have liked to see what would happen and what he would say but Yuki tricked him, as usual. But I'm glad to see Yuki really worked up about Tohru. I think maybe that he still has something for her but i also thinks he knows about Kyo and Tohru's "relationship" now. Well these are my thoughts for this chapter.

Kyo -- Disturbance (flamika)

Yeah, Ayame scares me sometimes too, but he also make me crack up, so I can deal.

And things are definitely startingto wind down. Maybe the 'rumor' of 22 volumes wasn't such a rumor after all...

And Grandpa rocks!!

Hey there...*glomps*

Y'know... At first, I really did not know what to make of this chapter. Well, of course, I thought the fact that Yuki and Kyo both said that they had always been admiring each other was great and long overdue. It was high time they had that confrontation, too.

But... apart from that, I did not recognize either one of my two favorite characters in this chapter and because of this, I felt... very frustrated. Then something happened that helped me realise I had understood the chapter the wrong way. What is it, you ask ? I read Kihou's analysis on the French board (her post is here, if you wish to read it). Kihou read your summary and she saw the light where I kept seeing darkness.

So, for this as well, thank you.

Hey there! ^___^

Every now and again, I find there are chapters that I have to sit down and read again after a few hours, read a few times over, or get other peoples' takes on them because they don't affect me or they're "off" for me too. Sometimes it's as simple as from being in a bitchy mood. ^^; Personally I don't agree with Kihou's analysis (see my own long subsequent ramble) but others have their own opinion, and all the better if it gets you into thinking about things. ^___^ This chapter touched on things and raised questions about stuff from various chapters and we've been on this one day for so long that the rest of the story seems even more distant. ^^;

Omigosh, you rock, you rock, you rock. Thank you so much for this great summary! (I read the scans before reading the summary... *sweatdrop* Now I can be unconfused... <3)

Yuki = so hott. He's such a deep character, and I feel that this chapter, we really get a look at all the sides of Yuki: the sad, the angry, the weak, the strong, the worried (and thanks to Haru, some of The surprised. XD)

Arigatou gozamashita. *bows continually* This is much appreciated.

I agree! This chapter seemed just so fitting for the one after the last one... if that makes any sense whatsoever. It felt so right, even though we barely saw anyone other than Yuki, Akito was kind of glanced over, and Tohru wasn't seen whatsoever. I have thought a little on what someone said on Fruity Group though...

Rin was on the page with the other Juunnishi who were released (If you don't count Shigure and Hatori at the top, which I don't for some reason). Do you think she may have been released?? It doesn't seem like she might have been since Haru isn't necessarily acting differently toward her. It's just interesting to me how Takaya might be foreshadowing something without fully coming out and saying it.

I'm doubtful that Rin was released from the curse myself unless there's to be no signs of foreshadowing whatsoever. The reasoning to me is too random. For one thing, there's no visual sign of the curse having been broken (falling feathers typically) there's no evidence from Haru's comments that he felt anything different about her (everyone noticed something seemed different about Momiji when they saw him), and there's no sign of anything from Akito either. In any case, to me, that page is split into mains; the top with Hatori and Shigure, middle right 2-frames with Momiji; distant and close-up, bottom right with Hiro, and left for Rin. The gap between Momiji's shots and Hiro's also tells me this is more of a reactions shot than grouping Momiji, Hiro, and Rin together. Momiji and Hiro in that sense aren't being "grouped".

I can see that (in the scans as well). It just struck me as odd that she was next to the released ones, especially after someone noted it. I'm normally not one to fall for that sort of line of thinking, but I guess since I just wanted it...

I figured as much though. Akito, however, might be in such a state of shock that she might not give a crap any more to anyone being released. It'd just be another bad thing to tack onto the growing list. I feel so bad for Akito too. No feathers though.

Just curious

Hmmmmm this is just very odd rambling but in chapter 105 at first i almost thought that Haru was "maby" relaced from the curse.....just because of the way akito reacted .i mean she was saying dont go in a way like he`ll leave forever ^^;.
But its obvious that he is not freed but..other thoughts......
how can i gat scans for the more recent chapters (i live in america so im gonna need american links ^^;) Because the scan site i go through is only up to chapter 105 TT_TT

This is kind of off the subject but can anyone give me a link to see the scans of Chapter 123? It would be much appreciated. Thanks!
