With a drama CD?!? Say what?

Okay, apparently, they've gathered the cast and staff of the anime series together again to include a drama CD with the comic. First part comes out Summer '09 and the latter part in 2010. The title is "The Forgotten Children" which would mean it's the abandoned school house story (sic the current manga story).

Nifty. The thing that I'm not sure about is the price of the comic. The price that's listed was Y440 which is not far off of the normal price, so it might be that there's a different special comic release with the CD drama. (As much as I'd love to think that the Y440 version will include the CD, I tend to be a bit more jaded than that. ^^; ) In any case, I'll keep an eye out for manga release updates and for updates to this site (they haven't updated for the Aug manga release yet) and will post once I know more. ^_^

Essentially they covered five stories in the dramas: Mai's school, Yasuhara's school, Urado, Ebisu (Noto peninsula), and Akumu. This one looks like it's the current manga story at the abandoned schoolhouse. ^o^

So you think it's the last evil spirits investigation? With the anime cast as the voice actors instead of the original CD cast, do you think they'll include the Gene revelations in addition to the case itself even though one of the older CDs has already done the revelations?

Yeah, from the title, there's pretty much no doubt in my mind that it'll be that investigation. It's hard to say about Gene. They could do it easily enough, but if they don't want to include it, it's just as easy to leave it out. As it is, I don't think they'd bother restricting themselves one way or the other because of the previous CD dramas. They're old and an adaptation of the novels while the anime was more manga-based. (Besides which, I don't think all that many people will have listened to the CD dramas. ^^; )

No idea. The only source I've seen about the re-write is what was reported in English. All the J comments I've seen about it refer to that one source. What's a bit unusual though is that she hasn't published anything big since Kura no Kami, and the last new thing of hers I've seen published is the 12 Kokuki SS in YomYom. Everything else has been manga adaptations IIRC. There was some speculation on 2ch that she was working on something for Kodansha's 100 anniversary (I think that's what it was...), but I'm not familiar enough with when the publisher was established to even begin to wonder if it's true or not. ^^;

Particularly nice about the c.d, listening to Ken Narita just makes me drool with happiness.
