Yay! Finally! ^o^

January 9th, 2009 (07:20 pm)

Jan 30 release!

伯爵と妖精 Hakushaku to Yousei
すてきな結婚式のための魔法 Magic for a Wonderful Wedding
ISBN: 9784086012546

After the whole Prince storyline (books 1-7, 9, 10), and after the troubles with Lydia's mother's clan (books 13, 14, 16) we might *finally* be getting the wedding?? (Books 8, 12, and 15 are short stories, while book 11 was a one off where Lydia goes away to learn proper etiquette.) To give this a bit of perspective, Edgar gave Lydia the moonstone ring in book 3, but Lydia doesn't actually agree to marry him until book 9.

And for the curious, Edgar steals his first kiss in book 5 and gets to kiss Lydia in book 10, but it's only starting from the end of book 10 that it's truly consensual. It takes a very long time for things to get places. ^^; Oh, and he gets two kisses in the dream world--one in the Christmas SS in book 8 (between books 6 & 7) and one in book 16 where he also gives her a kiss mark which remains in the real world. ^^;

Otherwise, I'm pretty much in avoidance mode right now. >.> I think I'm going to do the next section of book 1 as well as the next novel summary since I'm seriously in avoidance from IW. >.<; Shall see what I can get done this weekend. ^^;

I started watching the series this week *so far loving it* (very shoujo-ish =me loves muchly)
so umm any naughty bits between Edgar and Lydia from novel? :P

*laughs* It's *such* a fun series. ^o^ Sadly, nothing particularly naughty in the novels (yet?). >.<;;

There're some fun fics, but even those (fic sites, not just those that have R-18 fics) are pretty few and far between. ^^;

...that shyster earl. =P

Oh, avoiding IW? How about GW?

And hey! How was your Christmas and New Years?

All of GH is being affected by the avoidance. I haven't even been reading any GH doujinshi lately. >.>

Very quiet. ^_^ It's always a family thing here, but we were even quieter than usual. (I didn't even do much baking this year.) ^^; Mind you, the weather didn't help much either. :P

No GH doujinshi?! Now way...

Well, I'm glad that your holidays were nice and quiet!

Seeing as I didn't hear about the weather in Canada, what was it like?

Spooky, isn't it? ^^; Actually, I've been prowling for Hakuyou fics online as well, but they're hard to find. ^^;

It was very, very cold and white. Surprisingly, the entire country was white this year. (First time in who knows how many years--since the '60s or '70s though.) ^^;

Harmony--Ghost Hunt

Very spooky.

A White Christmas! How lovely. No snow this year down here in AZ. But I think we're going to have a blue moon this month.

*laughs* It means that, for whatever reason, I'm avoiding doing something. ^^; In my case, I'm avoiding working on my GH fanfics which have been on hold for some time even though I've been wanting to get them done/moving. Since I'm clearly doing anything to stay away from them, I figured I should at least try to be productive with other things until I can get over the avoidance. ^^;

Just a note: your spoiler text is a little bit readable here, and a little more so in my style. Someone with white text on a black background will be able to read it right off. If you use this code, <span style="color: #333333;background-color: #333333">, it will appear as a block of grey that people have to highlight to read. Just a thought.

Sixteen books! *weeps*

Hmm... I guess with a black background, it'd end up looking like straight regular text. ^^; I'll keep that in mind. (Not that this was much of a spoiler in the first place. ^^;)

Soon to be seventeen. Definite cry. ^^; That's okay, I want the next book of short stories, too. Cobalt's site posts teaser snips for some of the SSs they publish, and Hakushaku's been on there for the past two issues. I want to read these SSs! (Both seem to deal with Edgar's past, although the first (that I'd read) might go more into his family's history.)

17 books!?! Oh, what I got myself into...

*laughs* But it's such a fun series. :P How's the reading going, BTW? I remember you mentioning that you started reading the first volume. ^_^

Well, I read most of the first volume the first day, than had other things to do... Then I read your volume 5 snippet, and since it was really tempting I just had to go and read volume 5, skipping for the time being the 2-4 in between.
So. Err. Yeah. There goes another day. I'm probably finishing this volume today. It really takes me a lot of time because of all the scrolling, so it roughly takes me a day to read a single volume, although there's not much text and ideally I should be gulping them like an ogre.
All in good time, I guess. Still it feels so good to be actually reading light novels without having to give up half way through the sentence, that I really have to thank you. I'm going to beef up a bit with the Hakushaky to Yosei series and then finally have a shot at Saiunkoku. I have been yearning to know like forever what happened there and how Shurei and company are faring. I am still hoping for a third season or at least an OVA. There's still novel space left and I daresay I was intrigued by the Seiga line. His hairdressing skills struck me speechless, so I kinda ended rooting up for him.

Yay for sticking things through! ^o^

I have to admit, Hakushaku is a fun and quick read. On my regular laptop, the viewer auto-scales to page height (generally works for me), but my netbook... Scrolling's a definite pain. >.>

Hmm... I have to admit, I'm a couple volumes or more behind for reading Saiunkoku. >.<; I forgot about Seiga's hairdressing skills though. ^^; I'll have to remember to sit down and get caught up with it. ^^;

Hang in there! You'll be jumping over to reading Saiunkoku in no time! ^_^
