FSU received her copy of Natsume Yuujinchou DVD 1 today. Inside was a little strap of Nyanko-sensei! ^o^ He's now on my NaNo USB key. Hopefully he'll bring a bit of productivity with him, although I usually think of him as being more than a little drunk a lot of the time. Might not be good for productivity. ^^;;
That Man, Is He a Rogue or a Gentleman
Lydia took a deep breath in front of Huskley's room. Since she'd opened her door, Huskley was aware that she'd gone out into the hallway. Perhaps he was listening on the other side of the door. She knocked on the door.
After a moment, Huskley appeared.
"Hm? Is something the matter, miss?"
"Actually, something's making a strange noise in my room. It seems like something's inside the closet...... It's creepy, so I was hoping you'd take a look."
His expression changed slightly and he hurriedly addressed the others in the room. "Oy, the room next door. There's no mistake."
No doubt he didn't have the wherewithal to think about the possibility of Lydia wondering what couldn't be mistaken.
"Miss, it could be a pervert. It could be dangerous so please stay here."
In the room, including Huskley, were six strong-looking men. Watching the men all cautiously disappear inside Lydia's room, the young man who'd been hiding behind a pillar in the hallway slipped past the door.
He grabbed Lydia's hand so naturally as he started to run and Lydia followed.
"Nico, are you still with us?"
Nico had made himself invisible, but she caught a brief glimpse of his tail.
"Oy! They're getting away!" a voice said from behind.
Lydia heard the young man curse lightly at being found out so soon, but he kept going and headed down a flight of stairs. One of the men leapt over the deck rail jumping down to where they were and grabbed Lydia's bag. Lydia screamed.
The young man quickly turned knocking the man off his feet. The man, still holding Lydia's bag, fell against the hand rail and ended up going over the rail falling into the water.
"Don't turn back"
He grabbed her arm again, and Lydia had no choice but to run. Going across the deck, they went down another flight of stairs and across a boarding ramp, finally making their way off the ship. However, he didn't stop and instead continued through the crowds on the pier. Out of breath, Lydia could only do her best to keep up with him. When they finally stopped, the two fell to the floor.
Panting, Lydia tried to calm her pounding heart. When she finally started to calm down, she noticed that the floor she was on was very soft. Such a plush rug.
As she thought that, she moved her head and looked around slowly. It looked like a noble person's mansion--the room was furnished with exquisite furnishings.
"......Where... are we?"
"Aboard a ship," the young man answered from nearby. He was still on his back.
Outside the window was the sea. She could also see the pier. She was definitely aboard a ship, but it was a completely different ship compared to the other one. Wouldn't they get in trouble for entering such a special suite?
"Hey, just a minute."
"I'm sorry, but please let me rest. ......I've reached the end of my limits......"
He closed his eyes, and regardless of how much Lydia addressed him, there was no response. Having no choice, Lydia stood and looked around the room. A spacious living room, three bedrooms, a study, and a washroom with a shower.
"Wow...... there are even suites like this."
She didn't leave the room because she was afraid of being found by one of the ship's crew and she was also afraid of the possibility of Huskley and the others still going after them and being found by them.
"Talk about fishy."
It was Nico's voice.
He gazed at the large painting on the wall, his whiskers twitching.
"Just who is he?"
"I don't know, but thanks to him we didn't end up being tricked."
"I wonder. Maybe we're being fooled by him?"
'It might be possible," Lydia thought worried. But there was no doubt that the man Huskley was also a suspicious character. Any way Lydia looked at it, she couldn't think of any reason for there to be so many body-guard like strong men even if they were brothers in the room of an assistant working at a university.
"I guess we'll just have to hear what he has to say."
She sat on the leather sofa and leaning back against the silk cushions. It felt so comfortable she couldn't help dozing off.
Alright, that does it. Write! Doesn't help that I made myself sick munching on Maltesers. >.>
