I can't believe... I went to bed before midnight last night. I will admit I was extremely tired, but it's been years, since I last went to bed before midnight (short of feeling so icky-sick that staying vertical was an impossibility maybe... assuming I've been that sick in the past several years). So, for a change, I got more than the 6 hours of sleep my body tends to like (and would normally wake me up immediately thereafter), but also thanks to that, my back didn't like me much this morning. (Is that why I don't tend to sleep/stay in bed all day any more? I rarely read in bed all day anymore. ;_; )

Oddly enough, I did find an omake story for SS2 while flipping through some notes last night. ^^; Granted this doesn't affect English readers so much, and I have no idea why I didn't type it up. (I'm assuming I didn't. I don't remember typing it up). Maybe because it's too silly. We'll see if I type it and eventually UL it. ^^;

But, I did manage to do a lot of anime viewing this weekend. I wanted to get that done ASAP on the odd chance there'd be a title I'd want to look at subbing. There's one that caught my attention immediately until I did some digging and discovered it's pre-licensed (Seirei no Moribito / Guardian of the Sacred Spirit). Of the rest that I watched, no new titles are grabbing me to be subbed, so unless something comes up in the next week, we'll be continuing with our current projects/titles (yes that includes S2).

Of the titles I watched...

Seirei no Moribito (3)--I very much like this one. So much that if it weren't pre-licensed, I'd probably consider subbing it. However, it is pre-licensed, so it's off-limits. Unfortunately, I don't know when it's planned for release. >.<; It's based on a novel series, so I'm thinking about picking up the books. I'm not sure if I want to buy them one at a time, or take the plunge and buy the seven volume set that's offered and pick up the last 3 books separately. ^^;

Darker than Black (2)--ep 1 was a bit meh in my mind but ep 2 was better. Not entirely my sort of anime, but FSU will like this one I think. We'll see how it goes.

Sola (2)--I rather like this one. Perhaps because I also like things like Kanon and Air? We'll see how the story develops, but it has an interesting premise so far.

Shining Tears x Wind (1)--Wow, that was bad. That was incredibly bad. ^^; FSU was watching as I watched on my laptop and even without volume (I was using my headphones) she thought it was bad. Cheesy story without being good cheese. I thought I heard the name "St. Luminous Academy" mentioned in the story (it's the title of another anime; not a good anime, but not a horrible one either).

Koutetsu Sangokushi (2)--surprisingly poorly rated on anidb, and while the animation isn't anything to write home about, the music track is interesting and the story's proving to be intriguing. I assume from the title that it uses Sangokushi as it's base, but I'm not very familiar with the story. (I did buy vol 1 of a book with that title, but I can't find it at the moment; I haven't read the book yet.) It's a Chinese-style epic fantasy-adventure story, but without the book as a base, I'm not sure about trying to work on it.

Hayate no Gotoku (3)--fun more childish anime. Hayate has to have some of the worst luck ever! Boy am I glad I don't have his parents... O_O Will follow this for the time being, but over all, will depend on how many eps this is planning on going for.

Kaze no Stigma (1)--interesting story premise; I'm reserving judgement on this until after another ep or so to determine if it'll really be worth following or not.

Romeo x Juliet (2)--Decided to try it; we'll see how it goes. I'm thinking of it as more of a guilty pleasure right now. ^^;

Hitohira (3)--this one's another guilty pleasure right now. I'm having fun with this story so far. Poor Mugi.

Shinkyoku Soukai Polyphonica (2)--the story premise is a bit meh for me. But beyond that, I'm liking the series itself so far. Ep 1 was more meh; ep 2 was cuter. Unless we actually start seeing a point to the eps soon, it'll be dropped though.

Claymore (2)--interesting story although the boy is majorly annoying. I think we'll be following this. (Seems to be another title FSU would like).

Seto no Hanayome (1)--......*Maybe* people who like FLCL would like this, but I'm not even sure of that. Definitely not even bothering. I wonder why I bothered watching the whole ep myself. >.>

Heroic Age (1)--post-apocalyptic SF. More FSU's style than mine. The story premise wasn't bad, and it seemed interesting, but... not really my style, so I probably won't follow it. FSU seems interested so I'll pull it for her until she says otherwise.

Saint Beast (2)--pretty boys. Ohhhh, look at all the pretty boys. >.> Semi-interesting story with the potential to become annoying. I might try another ep before deciding to drop this. Either that or I'll drop it now. Haven't fully decided yet.

Saiunkoku Monogatari 2 (2)--I wasn't impressed with how ep 1 started the season; it was a bit too tongue-in-cheek compared to the original story, but ep 2 was better. Shall see how season 2 goes.

So of the titles, on the watch list are Seirei no Moribito, Kokumono season 2, Claymore, and Sola; on the maybe list are Hitohira, Romeo x Juliet, Hayate, Koutetsu Sangokushi, and Darker than Black; on the probable drop list are Saint Beast, Polyphonica, Heroic Age, and Kaze no Stigma; on the junked list are Shining Tears x Wind and Seto no Hanayome. Still to be checked out is Emma season 2 and anything else that might pop up in the next week or so. After watching all that, it's little wonder I was so brain-dead yesterday. >.>

I have messages and stuff catch-up today. ^^;

Have you seen Emily of New Moon? I've watched the first two and I've rather liked it. Also, do you know when Emma 2 is supposed to start up? I haven't seen any files for it. Right now, I'm trying to keep myself back from a full plunge since I'll probably be moving in a month and a half and school will still be in session. ;_; It's all about the checks and balances!

Did you get your package yet?

Not yet, but I'm not a huge LM Montgomery fan either. IIRC, Emma starts this week... the 17th? something like that.

Um... package? I take it I should be expecting something in the mail. ^_^

Awww...I liked Heroic Age, then again, I am a big fan of things like Fafner, so maybe that's why I liked this one too. Gotta have my mecha fix!

Seirei is Number 1 on my watch list!!! It looks SO GOOD!

thanks for the anime commentary! I'm still catching up on fansubs but I love reading people's opinions of the new shows.

[Darker than Black] Hei

Shame about Koutetsu Sangokushi, hopefully it's not as bad as the ratings make it out to be. I fell in love with the premise and character designs when I saw the promo (epic fantasy stuff = suckered), then I realised a lot of my favourite seiyuu were going to be featured so I'm sold. I hear it's yaoi-ish though, so that may explain the bad ratings (I can just imagine squicked guys clicking at the lowest possible rating furiously after watching it, nevermind that most of them wouldn't have a problem with yuri...).

I've tried Darker than Black, Claymore, Seirei and Gurren Lagann out of the new anime so far. Pity about Seirei, the animation is gorgeous and the plot looks promising. If you've got time left over I'd recommend giving Gurren Lagann a try, it wasn't on my watchlist initially but after hearing good things about it I sat through it and was pleasantly surprised ^^

*laughs* I can just imagine for the guys. ^^;; As it is, I think the animation in this series is seriously hurting its rating: it has all the subtlety, style, and purpose of a nuclear bomb. >.> Nothing in the story so far suggests it should go yaoi, but it gives vibes of it in the opening and some of... Rikuson's interactions with his master give those sorts of vibes as well.

I'll pull Gurren Lagann and take a look, but I'm really not much of a mecha person myself. (I watch some, but more often it's FSU who really watches those.) ^^;

Kokumono - Ensei! now with more hawt

I caught the first ep. of Seirei no Moribito yesterday and quite liked it. Pre-licensed? Wow. I would've been in on the project. :/ All these animes from novels are giving me a bit of insight into the days when manga was so hard to find here. *stomps foot*

So far, I've turned off Darker than Black and R&J (although that one was partly technical problems - why the .mkvs, why?!).

Yeah, apparently Geneon announced it last year. ^^; It would've been a really interesting (and potentially quite difficult) project. ^^; I think English Wiki was saying something about Scholastic having licensed the novels which would suggest it's from a youth novel series. ^_^

I was very happy with the animation for Claymore. Though it was weird how they changed things round a bit to fir the whole episode. Doesn't matter. That's definitely on my watch list.

Can't wait till the semester is over and I can actually watch things again.

I'm glad you are giving Koutetsu, Saint Beast and Kokumono 2 a chance. I'm sold with Darker than BLACK, even though it's not my cup of tea either. I'm a sucker for bishies, BUT it better have SOME sort of story to back it up. I wasn't impressed with Shining Wind x Tears either, it goes too fast (story wise) w/o in-depth explanation of the charas. I felt like i was playing an RPG (which is sorta ok I guess, since it IS based on an RPG game).

All and all, i hope you do reconsider Koutetsu (ya, i'm a yaoi fan, but i do hope it is NOT yaoish. We'll see how that one goes *crosses whole body for a GOOD Chinese historical anime...i miss historical anime T_T) and somewhat reconsider Saint Beast :)

Thank you^^.

Romeo and Juliet was not half bad you know. I've only watched the first ep so far - but it was amusing. Nothing to do with the original title of course - but all the better. Besides, it's Gonzo.

Then Claymore might be worth giving a chance. For the time being - it's on my watch list. You didn't mention it, but you might want to try it.

And then there's Murder Princess, which might not be great, I concede, but has cutesy monsters and PAKU ROMI in it.

Shining Tears was awful. Really awful. I wonder who's gonna watch it...

.mkv was released today on Tokyo Tosho. I'm sort of hoping for an .avi version myself, but I can live with .mkv if I have to. ^^; I wonder how long it's set to run this time... ^_^

The only one I've tried on your list was Darker than Black. A little too violent for my preferences. (The finger breaking scene made me wince big time.) But I think I'll keep with it though.

I probably didn't give DtB a fair try since I squeezed the 2 episodes in between eps of my 2 newest video obsessions: Mythical Detective Loki: Ragnorok on DVD and your subs of Saiunkoku Monogatari. I finished episode 27 last night. I'm in a race to see if I can catch up completely before you issue your next sub. :D

Hey Shadow! ^^

Long time no talk, ne?

Anyway, thank you for the rec list - I've just checked out Seirei no Moribito and OMG IT'S SO AWESOME I'M SO IN LOVE <3 <3 <3!!!

*ahem*

As for Sangokushi ... OK. When I first saw the title, I was elated! The original story it's based on is one of my faves of all time, so I went and checked it out too. But then I was so disturbed (more like horrified) at the blatant bastardisation of the original story. O_O Seriously, apart from sharing the same character names, it bears almost no resemblance! I know I'm ranting here, but OMG.

Um. Romeo x Juliet is great! It's definitely worth watching! (But then, I'm already partial to it since it's one of my favourite plays ... but this version is even more entertaining than the original!)

Ooooh, and GH. I'm absolutely FLOORED by your wonderful, wonderful fics! Gah, thank you SO MUCH for writing such awesome fics to keep my GH withdrawal at bay! Words aren't enough to describe how much I love you and your fics, but please accept my humble worship! *bows*

Oh, and PLEASE, PLEASE tell me you'll continue Soul Keepers! You've left me at a cliffhanger and I keep wondering what's gonna happen!
