Someone take my Visa card away from me. >.<;; I denied myself 5 beautiful skeins of 2-ply lace-weight cashmere in black today and only bought 5 skeins of mahogany. I liked the mahogany more and figured it was less likely to be in stock compared to black. (I also couldn't think of a pattern I wanted to work on in black at the moment. This is important?!) So I was being very good today. The problem is, denying myself the black has created a strong desire to buy other things. Namely beautiful Destiny circulars (mostly for the FSU). And some nice inks (for me; I blame you for this Ginny! That note you included with the teas written in poussiere de lune made me want to _buy_ink_!) and refillable rollerball pens for the FSU. ^^;; ......And thinking about the Destiny needles, I just realised that the sale starts *tomorrow* not today. >.<;; We'll see what the shop says about it. Oops. If it's a no-go, it's a no-go.

And... thankfully, LJ and Firefox has a strong cache for unposted posts since I have a post reply and most of a FF chapter written up in rough form, although I might rethink how to do things, for that silly GH FF that suddenly bit the other day. For some reason it hasn't left my system yet. >.> We'll see. Anyhow, at some point, my computer rebooted (I vaguely recall hearing something beep when balling some yarn this evening) so I'm lucky not to have lost all that.

As it is, Rosy Fingered Dawn has now been started. >.<; FSU bought me a skein of Claudia hand painted yarn a couple of weeks ago, and I fell in love with the name of one of the colourways. The colours themselves are also really good for this project so... She bought me the "oops" colourway. ^^;;

I had FSU start the central fingers section as she suggested doing an i-cord start and my brain wasn't computing the concept. I've heard of it, but I don't know if I've ever done an i-cord before. I know she did it when doing the Mermaid jacket though. ^^; I'll be continuing with it tomorrow and will see how far I get overall. Needles might become a limiting factor in the days to come depending on the circulars order. Short of stripping a UFO and stealing its needles, I don't think I have any appropriate 3.75mm circulars (US5) for this project (sic wooden or bamboo needles).

As it is, I ended up knitting a small scented sachet instead this evening. Whee. It was a free gift included with an order from Fiddlesticks so I finally knit it up. It's cute and made from Zephyr, but it still needs to be cast off (with picot edging) and then sewn up.

*sigh* I think I need to join the knit from your stash group in concept. I've got so much lace-weight yarn now and very little actually knit up. FSU bought another skein of Lorna's Laces for me today. >.<;; This time in a purple colourway. Oh well. Replies will have to wait until tomorrow. I'm going to read through Rosy Fingered Dawn again and maybe scribble some more stuff down (FF or translation, I'm not sure which yet). My brain's a bit tired.

To play the devil on your shoulder, post scenario, you should have bought the black and saved it for when you had the inspiration to use it.

That probably didn't help, did it?

*swat!* The girl at the shop told me that I could always phone them and have them put the black aside for me (or have them send it). >.> I think FSU was expecting me to do that when her back was turned. ^^; We'll see after next week. FSU's b-day is this weekend so I need to be a bit careful since she wants me to pay (help pay?) for her car brakes. Once I know how much that is, I'll be freer to spend again. ^^; (Darn! I wish she took the flight ticket. So what if I was planning on it being one way...) :P

LOL! Good luck. Wow, the shop sends things? Golly, they don't do that here in America unless you order it online -_- what's wrong with shops here?

*whispers* Go for the black! ^_^

Car brakes... ugh, don't get me started on car anything. My Senbonzakura's had more than enough work done-- and the main bulk was in three months, brakes were the last things to "have a problem."

*laughs* A lot of smaller and especially specialty shops (down there too) will do phone, fax, or even mail-in orders. Not everyone's online. ^^;

Hush! *swat* I'm trying to ignore that siren call...

Ouch on the car troubles. Those things always seem to all happen at once, don't they? I hated that aspect of driving. ^^;

Sirens aren't so easily ignored, ask Odysseus. XD.

I guess I need to find those shops. I think when we lived in Florida, there were some sewing shops that my mom frequented that would do mail, fax, and phone orders. You're right that not everyone's online. Hmm...

Oh, boy do they ever! Mine happened consecutively in a three month period. >.< I was ready to tell my dad to get my old car back when I heard the starter went. And then it went from there. Benihime didn't have those problems at all--she was a good car.

Yes, I'm quite obsessed with the Zanpaktou names from Bleach. XD

Apparently my brain is dead. Please ignore the fact that I repeated myself. <.

Eep! I didn't realise it's been this long since it came in. >.<; Will reply... um, today. I'm not sure when I'll get it sent. ^^;

GH - Yasuhara - sweet boy

*is unrepentant*

Seems only fair, since I blame you for the GH obsession. On top of that, you taunt me with your purchases. *traumatised*

Knit from your stash is being hard on me. :/ I was very happy, though, when I realised that it's only yarn I can't buy - I can buy the patterns to knit the yarn. ^_^

>.> Why did I know you'd feel that way? :P

*laughs* I'm not the least bit sorry about getting you obsessed. (BTW, nice icon! ^o^ ) *pets* Yarn trauma is never good. ^^; If you're suffering from pen/ink trauma though, I'm not the least sympathetic--after all, you caused the want in me first. :P

Ohhh... so needles and pattern are fair game? Hmm... That mightn't be all that bad, and yarn gifts are fair game too, right? Hrmm... ^_^

GH - Yasuhara - darjeeling or earl grey?

Don't get me wrong - I'm entirely grateful for the obsession (except at 1:00a when I can't sleep because of fics romping in my brain). ^_^

It was mostly yarn trauma. I rather gorged on pens and ink a couple of years ago. I have quite a stash still. *hides*

(Why yes, I do have an obsessive personality.)

'Sides, if I get all "want ink, NOW!", I can just hop on the transit to Laywine's (the place truly responsible for the Herbin problem) and stop at the House of Tea and maybe the pâtisserie on my way home. </taunt mode>

As I recall, needles & patterns are fair game (unless that's me making my own rules again), as are purchases to complete projects. If you're knitting for someone, it's all suspended, since you can't expect to have just the thing for the gift in your stash. Gifts? From you or to you? I don't think either is a violation: you wouldn't want to be ungenerous, and you can't control other people, after all…

*laughs* It's the 1 AMs that're the pain. I don't mind the in-the-shower inspirations so much. ^^;

*is traumatised* Waahh! I'm probably not going to be able to get out to the stationers until sometime in the summer (unless the Flames are eliminated quickly in the play-offs). They're out on the "red mile", so the next while is definitely not a good time to go down there. >.<;; And the possibility of hitting three places like that in one day... it's not like I live in Montreal any more. The three places for that are in three completely different parts of this city. >.<;;

*laughs* Thanks for the clarifications. How long was the period? Nine months? That would take me to a little past the end of this year... Yikes. I wonder if I can do it?? I'm lousy at self-denial. ^^;

GH - Yasuhara - anything you can do

Shower satori are the best. ^_^ (Even if they do involve things like what bit you today. *pets*)

I was deliberately taunty. I'd hang my head, but it would be insincere. Come to Toronto, and we'll make the rounds! (I seem to've caught Ysa's "come see me!" bug.)

It started at the beginning of the year, so yeah, 9 months. There's also one "get out of jail free" card. I'm pretty bad at self-control myself. As evidenced by the gargantuan stash from which I'm knitting this year. :/

*laughs* At least you're honest! ^^;; Don't tempt! >.<;; BTW, what was it I saw on your journal about a GH panel at AN? Just curious. ^^;

^^; Nine months of self-control. Eek. I can barely manage one or two at the best of times... O_O;

(BTW, love the string of icons you're leaving. Yasuhara's great. ^o^ )

GH - Yasuhara

*hangs head* But! But! Okay, it's pure selfishness that's motivating the temptiness. But I do offer snuggly kittens and pêtisserie and boulangerie and thérie (?) and paperie (papeterie? (okay, now I'm ashamed, but of my language loss, not of any taunty behaviour)) and …

I volunteered to do a Ghost Hunt panel at AN. I figured preparing and talking about it for an hour would help get the obsession out of my system. Here's hoping, at least.

Project Paris & Provence 2007 and Project Ordinateur à Grande Vitesse make self-control a little easier. ^_~

(*preens* Yasu's wondrous iconnable. And hopefully distracting you from the fact that I still haven't done that scowling Naru icon. *shakes muse* Give it up, you!)

*laughs* I know you do. You have no idea how tempting that is for me. *___* BTW, maybe that's théerie? At first I though théière, but quickly realised that was a teapot. Oops. ^^;; Papeterie sounds right. I seem to recall a shop with that word in its name. ^_^

A GH panel... you have no idea how tempting it sounds to attend. *_* The only problem is the question of whether it would get GH out of my system or not. ^^;;

Yum... both lovely sounding and very worthwhile projects. I still have to determine my own projects for this year although Project New Computer is fairly high up on that list. >.<;

(*laughs* Naru's no match for Yasuhara IMO, so if Yasuhara's not letting you go... ^^;; )

GH - Yasuhara - sweet boy

A théière is also a very good thing. ^_^ (Someday, I just may have a crêpe (we have a crêperies here, too!) and tea shop called Tea Haven - or at least include such a thing in a story. It's far too good a name to be wasted.)

Shhhhh! Don't let Naru hear you! I agree, but he'd get all sulky and snarly (snarlier).
