Quick Question for People...

confused

current mood: confused

Does anyone know where I can find a listing of various ancient Chinese philosophies / theories like that of the five elements? Preferably in English? Ep 23 is giving me a serious run for my brain and the brain is starting to lose. >.<; Any help would be most appreciated. ^^;

Are you talking about onmyoudo? I have a copy of a scholarly paper a friend of mine wrote that looks at that, with charts, etc. If you want, I can email you a copy.

I'm not sure if it's going into Onmyoudo or not. The five elements is in common, but I'm still trying to figure out what the other eight theories? policies? are that's being mentioned.

If you're willing I'd be more than happy to take a look through that paper and see if it can help figure out what's being mentioned. ^_^;;

(just in case, my email is: tsujirimaccha at yahoo dot ca) Thanks! ^___^

wikipedia.org?
^^;

umm...have you had a chance to download ep 28?
I have a question about the scene between Seiran and Shuurei ;-;
they have having manju and tea in private and she blurts out that she likes seiran (using suki) . Seiran spits out his tea and sweats massively (hahaha i think he's blushing) does that happen in the novel? ^^

also the preview of ep 29 suggests shuurei makes a trip back to saiunkoku capital and meets up with ryuuki...

^^; I have a page from there in Japanese but it's been beating me into submission. ^^;

It does. This is the scene where Shuurei tells Seiran that she likes/loves him second-most in the world. ^___^

I'm not sure what the images in the preview are referring to, but at a guess I think not. In this ep they have 20 days left to take office in Koren so Shuurei won't be going anywhere but there right now. (It takes ~1.5 months normally to go from Koren to Kiyou.) I will admit, it looks like Kouyuu got himself, Shuuei and Ryuuki lost somewhere though. ^^; In any case, that aspect seems to be non-existent in the novels... or at least, nothing similar comes to mind. ^^;

Wikipedia's useful, but only if you know what you're looking for. In this case, I have "names" but not the English equivalent (which is what I'm looking for) hence why I'm in the Japanese version of Wikipedia.

i understand
but http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Five_elements_%28Japanese%29 and http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Five_elements_%28Chinese_philosophy%29 can help you, cant it?

cause if you are looking the names for the elements, they have things like that:

Element I Ching Trigrams
Wood Wind, thunder :|| (☴ 巽 xùn) |:: (☳ 震 zhèn)
Fire Fire |:| (☲ 離 lí)
Earth Earth, mountain ::: (☷ 坤 kūn) ::| (☶ 艮 gèn)
Metal Sky, lake ||| (☰ 乾 qián) ||: (☱ 兌 duì)
Water Water :|: (☵ 坎 kǎn)

or you can tell what exactly are you looking for and we can try to find what it is in english

i would like very much to be useful to you :3

awwwwww ^_________^ I remember you mentioned that part in the novel o^^o (Though I wonder if Ryuuki will like being 3rd place if she even has him ranked at all ;-;)
hahahaha i guess Kouyu did get them lost ! So she won't meet up with Ryuuki for awhile nee ? T__T

Poor Ryuuki. I fear he might even be outranked for third, probably by Kouchou. But I doubt Shuurei ranks anyone beyond 1st and 2nd anyway (I'm guessing her father is first.)

In the novels, she doesn't see Ryuuki until the New Year events in the capital. The question is where did Kouyuu get them lost to? :P

At a glance, I guess not. >.< There's one thing on the list that I have no idea what it even comprises. ^^;

This is the page from wikipedia but... ^^;

http://ja.wikipedia.org/wiki/%E6%B4%AA%E7%AF%84%E4%B9%9D%E7%96%87

I start going cross-eyed after awhile when trying to decipher this page. ^^; But it does seem to tie in with onmyoudou too. :P

Maybe this can be of help. I came across it trying to figure out where in the world the concept of Touda, a serpent with hell fire, came from.
