Update

June 8th, 2006 (11:45 pm)
rushed

current mood: rushed

Just a quick note that the site's been updated for FB Neko - Haru's profile as well as Saiunkoku Monogatari Ep 9 (done yesterday). Haru's profile only took... ?? I have no idea how long I'd been intended to do that one. ^^;; BTW, does anyone know if TokyoPop has any plans to release either the chara book or the fanbook(s)? I believe Delacourt / Akata is planning on releasing the fanbook isn't it? (ichi_san can you confirm / deny this?)

Otherwise, after almost 3 months of waiting, I finally remembered to cancel an item from my HMV order (Kaze Makase Tsukikage Ran CD Drama) and the order has now shipped. Poor male parental. I'd ordered up that CD drama for him. :P I have no idea if I'll be able to pick it up from Amazon. I might check later. As it is, since I want to pick up Saiunkoku manga, I'm trying to come up with another book order from them, but considering we just bought stuff recently... >_<;; I'm having a bit of trouble fleshing it out.

Anyhow, I've got two more paragraphs to scribble out before I can double check ch 1 or part 1 and boot it out to Ysa. I also need to boot more stuff out for editing to Heather. >_<; Tomorrow's Friday. Yay! Hopefully things'll be fairly quiet for tomorrow. ^^;

Miwako adorable (agirlnextdoor)

Shadow! The fanbook answered the pants question! THE PANTS QUESTION! *has posted* *falls down*

(Ooh, I get editing work! *pleased*)

And thank you so much for the Haru upload, which has now made my night twice or three times over. *^^*

Wheee!  (avataresque  ^_^)

I don't know that this does answer the pants question. I read vols. 1-3 again yesterday, and not to argue with the author (who y'know, is the authority), he's dressed like Haru for the fight. After, post-transformation & nekkid, he's dressed like Kyo, but there's the little note that says they're Kyo's clothes.

It's possible that it's just a Sohma thing to have spare clothes anywhere the jyuunishi might end up nekkid. That would be smart.

Also, an interesting note - after Tohru hugged Kyo so he wouldn't fight in school and he yelled and made her cry and Yuki walked away without hitting him, his bracelet (the sovery important one) is sitting on the ground beside him. But after Haru changes back, he's wearing his necklace & earrings. Interesting - could be a difference in kitty paw is too small to keep it from falling off? (But Haru's neck is so much bigger as the ox.) You'd think that the guys who made the bracelet would've made it less easy to lose…

Rin and Shigure (Flamika)

*blinks* Wow, I was pretty vague there, wasn't I? I was flashing back to the discussion on randomfandom, and thinking it was more obvious which scene I meant. *silly 3 AM posting* I'm definitely not arguing with Takaya's side notes. ^^

Anyway, yeah, the issue with Kyo's bracelet falling off bothers me too. I keep having this vague idea that Momiji's earrings stay in through the transformation process, as well, but I can't find a visual to back that up right off.

The idea of the 12shi keeping spare clothing stashes definitely is a good one, too. Hmm. In the chapter one case, it does *say* it's Yuki's clothing she's borrowing . . . but it's in Tohru's dialogue, so it's not impossible to think that Yuki and Shigure may have just told her that to make it simpler.

^___^ I'd been meaning to do Haru's profile for a while now, and your email reminded me of it so I finally *sat_down* with it. ^^;; I'll probably be booting the file out to you late tonight so it'll be in your inbox tomorrow morning. Cheers!

Alas... as far as I know, Akata/Delcourt do not plan on releasing the Fanbook any time soon. At least, so far they haven't said a word about it.
Ah, how I wish they did, though... We've been lucky enough to have some parts of it translated by a very kind person (oh, it was you ! XD), and really, there are very interesting bits of info inside. But *sigh* I'm totally aware of how huge a work it would be for you to translate more than what you've already done, and I would be happy to read about Tohru, Kyo and Yuki, too... So yeah, I'd be happy if they did.

A realease of both the character book AND the artbook was planned, though. I was very excited about this, because it'd been said by Akata that a never published before picture was to be published at the end of the Artbook, with a note from Takaya, especially for the French audience.
Well, that's how it was planned until very recently. However about a month ago, they announced on their website that "la publication de l'artbook et character book sont reportés à des dates indéterminées. Nous rencontrons des problèmes de matériel, liés aux différences entre les procédés d'impression en France et au Japon (notamment au niveau de la colorimétrie). Plus d’informations dès que possible."

*sigh*

I'm very curious about the contents of the Nezumi Fanbook, too... Thigi told me recently that Takaya had started working on it. ^___^ (but ahem, I guess that means more work to come for both of us ? XD)

*off to read Haru Profile*

I'm thinking of someday picking up the French releases. (Have to brush up rusty language skills somehow.) What do you think of them? Translation good, bad, horrible … ?

Translations's HORRIBLE until volume 12. Then it gets much better.
Then again.... well, I'll admit I tend to be really picky with things that I love. Furuba being one of them, there are some mistakes I find unacceptable in the French edition of the early volumes, but that probably go unnoticed to the average reader... I don't know.

The lastest volumes however are very, very good.
Volume 18 is out on June 14, here. Five more days until we get to see this very cute Yukichi-chapter 102 moment in French (XD), and also our shocked Tohru thinking "Ne me laisse pas" in chapter 107... *melts*

she is too fond of books

I'm pretty picky, too. I think I'll collect from 12 'til the end. Wow, the French is a lot closer to the Japanese than the English. (And with 4 months between releases, we're falling behind, not catching up. *cry*)

Thanks for the correction. I'd only vaguely remembered there were plans for something to be released. A shame it wasn't neko though. >_<; A special artwork for the French readers? That would've been great to see. A shame about the indefinite delay though. >_<;

Likewise, I'm very curious about what's to be in the Nezumi Fanbook. BTW, does Thigi know when it's scheduled for release?

dynamically - phone

I've just asked her.

Thigi said that normally, Fanbooks are scheduled for release in May.
However, since it wasn't the case this time for the Nezumi Fanbook, we can only assume it will be relesed with a Furuba Tankôbon. Because it so happens, sometimes, that a Fanbook is released a week before a Tankôbon, in order to benefit from all the advertisement that normally goes with a tankô release.
Now, the question is, will it be released with Tankô 21 or Tankô 22 ?... well, it's hard to say but she thinks it's a little too late for Tanko 21. So, it will probably be released with tanko 22.

But the Fanbook itself has been ready for a long time, as most of its contents had been settled at the same time as the Neko Fanbook was made. As soon as February of last year, Thigi said, Hakusensha was already launching contests for the fans. Such as "Draw your favorite outfit to go with each character !" and it was said that some of the best artworks would be published in the Nezumi Fanbook.

Ohhh, Haru's profile!

*runs off to read*

I think it'd be cool if the fan book was translated into English!

You and me both. ^_^ (Although I don't know if I'd actually read an English version...) ^^;;

Rin and Haru -- kiss (undeadmiko)

Well, you can read the original Japanese version. I think it'd be easier for me to read the English one mostly because I wouldn't have to lug my computer around with me if I needed translations.

Although it's very much appreciated, all the effort you put into this.

Why wouldn't you read the English version?

Anyway, I was wondering the exact thing today about the fanbooks, so thanks for asking and clearing that up.

Why wouldn't you read the English version?

*laughs* For the same reason I generally don't read the English version of FB. I'm used to reading it in Japanese and, while I have the English version, I haven't actually sat down with them to read. *shrugs*
