Well, well, well. I learned something new today. Apparently, you can only read back 1000 posts on your friends page. I did not know that. ^^; That said, anything beyond... maybe 10 days ago, I will not get caught up on therefore. (I don't know if I can honestly say I got "caught up" on my friends' page either since I was skimming through everything...) But I did try. ^^;;

Otherwise, is it just me, or has Kokumono not been showing up lately on Saiyaman? I'm very behind and I don't know if I can get caught up quite yet; I think some of the middle eps might still be on my own 'puter at the moment. Still, I don't remember seeing anything this week and couldn't find anything for last week...? (What about earlier?)

And FSU has been reporting the latest exchange rates between CAD and JPY. ......Am I bad for wanting to go shopping over there? The only problem is that I can't right now. Completely and utterly cannot. I need a new passport. >.<;; I believe I'll be heading to the post office very soon... :P

Which reminds me, I finally got Seirei no Moribito and... it's hard to read! It's taking me much longer to read than Kokumono or Shoumyou! >_<;; I never thought I'd say this, but there's *not enough* kanji so I'm stuck sounding out words and figuring out what the words are from there. I never realised phonetic reading would be so difficult. ^^;; I'll be tackling more of that later. :P I also finally started reading Maruma (? is that how it's written?) I'll have to hunt down the rest of the novels now. They're here somewhere. :P Next title to hunt for purchases will be Shinkyoku Soukai Polyphonica. The anime is so-so, but I'm getting the feeling there might be much more to the novels. There's enough of a hint that I definitely want to hunt down a volume or three. ^_^ I remember reading the description for the anime on anidb some time ago, and they said something about a "kinetic story". I wonder if they meant a "moving story"...? That's the sense I'm getting having watched it this far now. ^^; Oh well.

Still not entirely comfortable posting on LJ and such with FSU's laptop. :/ I think it's the whole "mine" vs "not mine" issue. *sigh* Hopefully I'll get over it soon...

Will you be subbing season 2 of Kokumono?

There are no plans to sub the eps at this point. Since season 1's been licensed, season 2 is being treated as off-limits.

http://www.saiyaman.info/ He says he's on vacation, and if he's the one doing the uploding of Saiunkoku then that might the problem. The chinese subbed versions seem to come out like clockwork.

I wish we had firm confirmation that Geneon also licensed season 2. Well, at least I'll buy season 1, so maybe that'll help. Maybe you could save the raw files of season 2 and sub them if it's clear they're not buying it? *faint hope*

I've decided to read summaries and watch it raw, so I know how it goes on, especially if no one licenses it AND no one subs it. ^^

EikiXShou slap

That "vacation" note has been up for over a year. He never changes it. His page is notorious for not having contact info. No one even talks about it in the forums.

As for Geneon, they have no mention of releasing Saiunkoku on their site. It isn't among any of the releases listed for July or August. Weird. Hopefully, they will make an official annoucement at a con soon.

Well, Anime on DVD have two Geneon mailer infos for release in their news archive http://www.animeondvd.com/news/archives.php?datearch=0507
On May 3rd (solicited for July 2007) and on May 17th (solicited for October 2007)under the name of Story of Saiunkoku.

I think that's a fairly reputable source.

mm, you can break your main filter down into smaller filters and read through it that way. That's how I catch up on my flist.

s2 stuff has been scarve. I havn't had the time to download ANYTHING. Maybe I should get on that...

That's what I do - I've got two general-purpose groups, "u" and "g", into which I put all users and groups respectively. That way the "u" group doesn't suffer the group spam :)

i have one, two, and erm yea.

one is all the private journals and the few communities that I want to keep up on regularly. two is the main community filter which I never get to, haha, and erm yea is when I am uber lazy and only wanna read my top level filter to save on time.

*laughs* Thanks for the tip; I never thought about doing that. ^^;

S2 stuff has been a bit scarce and I'm finding some releases have become a bit erratic. I'm not sure if this is normal or something temporary etc.; I don't remember if I was fully into DLing and other such at this time last year. ^^;;

not enough... kanji... *SHOCK*

*laughs* Scary, isn't it? I never thought I'd ever say that. :P I have to admit it's a bit weird reading this though. It's a children's novel, so all the kanji have yomigana by it, and the kanji tends to be quite simple overall. Those aspects aren't necessarily bad. I just wish there'd be more kanji in it so the lines would be a bit shorter and less drawn out. ^^;

I have up to ep. 6 of s2, if you need 'em.

*praises* It was a good effort. And you've reminded me of an improvement I thought of for LJ. An improvement they'll never implement because people voted for fluffy things instead of not-suck database improvements. People suck.

But don't you think it would be awesome if you could pull up all your flist entries from a certain date? Or search for something in your flist? See how clevar the GinnyBrain was while laying in a dark hotel room waiting for her roommates to wake up so she could turn on a light?

Thanks! I'll let you know if I need any back eps. ^_^

^^;; I can definitely see it being helpful since there've been times where I *know* I've read something on my flist but can't remember whose journal or when it was and feel too silly to just ask openly. ^^;; Ah well, you never know what might eventually come into being. :P

Yuki & Ayame

There are also direct dl links to 7 & 8 from a different source in the Saiunkoku community.

I'm lazy and just ask the flist. And then I'm often apologising because I've mis-remembered who made the post/comment. *hides*

This is unrelated, but is that Yuki and his older brother (Ayame?) in your icon? It's a very cute drawing!

Momiji secret

That's them. It's from a later chapter in the manga (I forget which, but beyond the NA release). I loved this image so much. ^_^ (In fact, I'm pretty sure I stopped reading the chapter to make the icon. It was before my inexplicable Aya adoration.)

Hey Shadow, long time no talk!

No, it's not you - Saiyaman's been a little late in releasing Saiunkoku 2 lately ... but I heard that ep 7 and 8 are up, so yeah.

Actually, I agree with you - having kanji there is a LOT better than just having hiragana ... I find a long string of hiragana extremely difficult to read ... I'd rather have a mix of kanji and hiragana in a text...

Computers are troublesome things. Just yesterday I was rushing to finish and print off my essay to hand in, and my computer just HAD to stuff up at that moment. I ended up spending ages trying to fix it and missed 3 classes before I got to campus to hand my essay in... And I know how tough it is to be without a computer when everything is so dependent on them nowadays...
