I have 45 MB free on my data partition. >.<;; Y'know, my first computer only had a 20MB hard drive? I remember paying an arm and a leg for a 50MB drive. Actually, I think my digi-cam has more space available on it than my system does at the moment. >.<; I know what I'll be doing for the next while, and it's neither translating nor editing. Mrf.

The good news is that the latest eps for Shoumyou and GH raws are available on Saiyaman. The bad news for me... wouldn't be what I just whinged about, would it? ^^;

hard drives

You know, hard drives are really cheap nowadays. For isntance, here's a 750GB IDE drive (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16822148133) for only $350. Its sister SATA drive (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16822148134) is $50 less. Of course, if you can't afford to spend that much, you can get a 320GB model (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16822148139) for $90. I'm assuming you have a desktop system that you could install these into, and don't have an SATA controller. If, however, you have a laptop and can't add additional internal hard drives, you can always get an external one. Here's a 160GB external hard drive (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16822148119) for $95. The capacity is much less than your typical internal hard drive, and is much more expensive, but it's much easier to install (all you have to use is a USB connector). The transfer rates on these devices aren't that fast, so it'd be better to use these devices for storage, and do all of your encoding on your existing hard drive. Of course, there are many other models and manufacturers on the internet, but Seagate is a highly recommended and reliable company.

*hugs* I know that pain. In the worst days of my hard drive troubles, I couldn't unzip an album. *cries*

At the risk of encouraging the spam, get thee an external drive! It is saver of day. *nodnod*

Thanks for the torrent links - I got distracted and never did get round to looking for Shoumyou 21.

^^;; I really should get an external but have no idea where I'd put it. As it is, I have about 6 months left to this one's warranty, so I'm caught in a bit of a conundrum. I could buy an external and have space until this one spontaneously combusts (presumably sometime later this year depending on how kind it's feeling), or buy a new system and avert combusting computers and get space. The problem with the latter is the research into finding a system I like. Six of this, and a half dozen... >.<;

Sherilyn Van Valkenburg - Delirium

Get a Mac! (Sorry, Pavlovian reaction.)

I hear you. I had a similar conundrum, although I was farther from the new system. (O! new system, hurry to me; I grow impatient. ("grow" impatient - *snerk*)) I logicked it out saying that the external would eliminate some of the troubles of transferring everything over to the new 'puter. It's GinnyLogic™: shiny, pretty, often swirly, but don't try to use it to support anything. ^_^

*blink* Do you know how tempting GinnyLogic™ is? I never really thought about that aspect since I'd be going through re-installation hell with a new system, but data transfer... IIRC, I IR-ported a network connect between my old system and this one the last time I upgraded and it was horrible having to get the two to talk to one another. I'll have to reconsider things...

Don't get a system with Windows Vista, at least. Vista has been created to defeat people who distribute copyright-questionable material. It's a really horrible OS that is attempting to further Microsoft's control over everyday life. It is truly, in every essence of the word, disgusting.

As for my earlier post being "spam," I'm guessing the term is suffered great misuse. I was not paid nor compensated for providing those links. Moreover, they were provided to assist in the finding of suitable items. I can list many other websites containing the same products, but I'm betting such a list would erroneously be referred to as "spam." Some people need to get their definitions straight.
=P

Ouch! I didn't know that about Vista. :/ Microsoft has been seriously annoying me more and more over the years that I've been seriously debating getting a white box system instead, but... I'm a bit leery about doing that with a laptop. :/

As for my earlier post being "spam," I'm guessing the term is suffered great misuse.

Nope, nope. ^^; It wasn't a comment against your links post so much as she's saying she's potentially encouraging lots of "I agree" messages by posting what she did. She used to be in the same boat I'm in now and solved her problem by buying an external. ^_^
