It's good to see another group take on the Ghost Hunt subbing challenge. I wish you good luck in translating all that unusual dialogue. I hope you don't mind, but I wandered through your other Ghost Hunt entries. I get the impression that you've read the novels? Any neat & nifty spoilers you might be willing to share with this impatient Ghost Hunt fan?

No worries about wandering through the journal (although I probably don't remember much of what I'd written long ago). ^^; I'm actually very lucky in that I managed to get a complete set of the original novels before they completely vanished. I'm hoping that they'll eventually be re-released since the novels are quite a bit of fun. ^^; Hmm... spoilers... pay very close attention to all the little details? :P The thing with GH is that little things are revealed throughout the series in each of the cases and it's really only in hindsight that they all click in place. Sadly, I read the very last 2-part novel quite early (after having read ~5 books of the manga) and almost screamed when I realised that I'd completely jumped to the end. ^^;; Still, if there's something you're curious about, I can probably write something up for it, but I can't think of how to do a general spoilery concept for this series without revealing pretty much everything. ^^;

That said, in ep 1, I'd pay close attention to the little dialogue between Mai and Naru when she first calls him Naru-chan. It's a bit of an odd exchange. ^_^

Hakuei Ashita

WoooW Thank you for translating this anime. I really like it^^

I've looked at all the raws but it's too difficult to understand; but it still looks really good.

In one of your comment you said to look for little details. Could you tell me which ones in the first 9 episodes? I saw the raw of episode 9 and O_O.
Is the manga as good as the anime? I though they were 5 volumes. Is the serie finished?

Sorry for all the questions ^_^''

Umm... clue list to follow later. ^^;

The anime does take some liberties away from the manga/novel storyline. Personally I found the manga to be extremely faithful to the novels which was really nice. The anime has added in a bit and has also omitted a couple minor scenes which I thought were really cute and helped define Mai's and Naru's relationship more. ^^; The novel series itself is over although the manga hasn't finished yet in the tankoubon. The novels (anime eps) are:

Akuryou ga Ippai!? (1-3)
Lots of Evil Spirits!?

Akuryou ga Hontou ni Ippai! (4-6)
There really are lots of Evil Spirits!

Akuryou ga Ippai de Nemurenai (7-10)
There are so many Evil Spirits I can't sleep

Akuryou wa Hitori Bocchi
The Evil Spirit is All Alone

Akuryou ni Naritakunai!
I Don't Want to be an Evil Spirit

Akuryou to Yobanaide
Don't Call Me an Evil Spirit

Akuryou datte Heiki!
I'm Okay Even With Evil Spirits

Akumu ga Sumu Ie
The Home of the Nightmare

The last novel set was written in White Heart novels after the Akuryou series ended. It brings things about to it's beginning and end, but leaves things in much the same state as the end of the series. ^^; (Not that that made any sense). :P

Difference between books and Manga

Do the orignal books go farther than the manga or do they both end at the same spot? I am currently buying the manga as it comes out and it is so annoying waiting for the manga, I guess what I am asking is will there only be nine manga books or is the rumor that I have heared about a tenth one coming out in japan true? Does anybody know

Re: Difference between books and Manga

I've only read as far as what's been published either in novel form or tankoubon for the manga (although I haven't actually read the ninth manga yet... oops). To the best of my knowledge, the manga still hasn't caught up to the end of the novels though. As for a tenth volume, it's possible, but since it's so slow at coming out, I'd rather wait until I see it listed either on honya-town or one of the other publishing lists before getting psyched about it. ^^;

Episode 5! Yay! I'm downloading now. I really appreciate all the work you guys have done on getting the episodes out. I'm also impressed with the pace you're setting. Given all the techno-mumble-jumble that makes up this series, I'm very, *very* impressed.
